Remove the Stop

Traveling down the interstate, both of my 3 month olds (yes, we have twins) began screaming at the top of their lungs. Looking at my wife, we knew it was feeding time. I clearly remember at that rest stop parking lot how babies strongly desire nourishment. While my wife was bottle feeding Nora, Lily was looking at me with ever increasing intense eyes as I was holding and feeding her in my arms. It soon turned into screaming and a physical struggle to try and get fluid out of the bottle. I then realized I forgot to take out the spill stop between the base and the nipple. My rookie mistake prevented her from even getting one drop of nourishment. A beautiful look of gratitude and comfort came over my daughter’s face after I removed the bottle stop and began feeding her again.
As we seek all the Lord can give us, what is preventing us from getting a single drop of his mercies and blessings?
“Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” ~ 1 Peter 2:1-3
