Jesus Has Risen

“After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.”  Matthew 28:1

“Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb.”  Mark 16:2

In an extraordinary manner, not giving up; the women went to find Jesus’ tomb to ponder all that had taken place! On the way, as they were in silent worship of all that Jesus had done for them…a violent earthquake struck! A messenger from heaven came to the earth, and the famous words of Scripture are repeated, “Do not be afraid!”

How can we not be afraid? Our master was executed by the Romans and our own people, and we are expecting the same treatment of agony, disgrace and a criminal’s death.

Come! See! He is not in the grave. He is alive!

What great joy floods our soul, we must go tell the other’s! Then on the way, Jesus meets us with words of greeting, and we worship at his feet.

Jesus has overcome!
The grave is overwhelmed!
The victory is won!
He is risen from the dead!

The world is trying to silence the story of Jesus, but your story cannot be kept silent.
Today, as you are going, make disciples!
