The new year of 2017 has started off with one political controversy after another. Assaults against the family and marriage continue to arise. The atrocities of human trafficking, abortion, and radical violence continue to exist. The list of storms in our lives continue as well, each of us able to write our own headline story.
How can we stand in the midst of it all? I pray that today, if you hear His voice you do not harden your hearts and become more skeptical, apathetic, or arrogant. For it is our God who sets our feet on a rock and gives us a firm place to stand (Psalm 40:2). The word of the Lord is perfect, and He promises to shield those who seek Him for He is a solid rock (Psalm 18:30).
“Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone” (Acts 4:11). Jesus is the cornerstone, our solid foundation! Our Lord Jesus lives, and in Him we find victory! Honor him and build your life, your marriage, your family, and your career upon Him, so that when the storms come you will be able to stand strong!
When life is going well and decisions seem easy, look to the Rock. When God has brought you to a place of complete brokenness and life doesn’t make sense, look to the Rock!
Prayer: Father God, arm Your people with strength and keep our way secure. Enable us to climb the heights and endure the valleys. Sustain us by Your righteous right hand for it is in You alone that we are saved from our enemies and are given great victories! “The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!” (Psalm 18:46) Amen.
