Always be thankful

What makes for a meaningful holiday season?

In the hustle and bustle of the weeks to come, let us take time to be still and exalt our God! Let us check our heart to determine our motivation behind the traditions and busyness and familiarity of the season.

“True holiday wisdom is to pause, tune in to God’s perspective on all our artificial activity, and seek a fresh download of his truthful perspective on what we are really doing…and why. “~Daniel Henderson quote

Here is some Scripture to get you started.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:7

[O Lord, You] have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever! Psalm 30:11-12

Let [us] praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for [us].
For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107:8-9

Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! Luke 1:46-47

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. Colossians 3:15-16

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. Hebrews 12:28

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Prayer: Father, I believe that as your consecrated people enter your gates with praise and thanks, we are led into the presence of the Lord. Today, as we pray, declare, and proclaim these promises from your holy Word, we are sure that you will hear and answer. Help us to keep on your righteous path and truly honor you with our sacrifice of praise. Thank you for answering our prayer and giving us victory, In Jesus Name, Amen.
